MEDICARE WON'T COVER EVERYTHING

Supplements work with Medicare and allow you to see any doctor without restriction. Supplements have higher monthly, but predictable total cost. They have no co-insurance charges and many offer preventative care and fitness benefits that Medicare doesn't cover. A separate prescription, vision and hearing benefit plan should be built alongside the supplement. However, your total costs are fixed.

Advantage Plans replace Medicare with private insurance restricted to a health network.  Advantage Plans usually charge 20% co-insurance for treatment and co-payments for Doctor visits and hospitalization. These costs can amount to as much as $9,250 for in-network and up to $13,900 for out-of-network emergency care each year.

A Supplement might be the answer if you prefer predictable, level costs and freedom to pick any Doctor or any care facility anywhere. 

If you prefer lower monthly premiums, don’t mind being attached to a network and can risk higher out of pocket costs, an Advantage Plan can be a good fit. The key is to fill coverage gaps so your total costs for care are as low as possible.
